It's hard trying to work with a cat on my shoulders. But adopting a shelter kitty last month has gotten me more in touch with all of creation. Yeah. She does lots of things that seem human. And I do things that seem catlike. For instance, we both enjoy sleeping in and snuggling. More often than curling up, she spreads the length of her body out, gracefully, supine. I read that some cultures thought of cats as more spirit than creature (which is why they're revered in some and feared in others). So I take her presence as inspiration to uncurl myself. Maybe one day I'll even learn how to purr.
